A message from Governor Tasso during the 44th meeting of

The Iwate Prefecture COVID-19 Countermeasures HQ (November 22nd, 2021)

In today’s Countermeasures HQ meeting, information about Japan’s new Basic COVID Control Policy and a final summary of Iwate’s fifth wave was exchanged.

As well as including the aforementioned, we are making sure we are well prepared for another potential spread of COVID by increasing the number of isolation facilities and COVID wards, and by expanding our medical facilities through the establishment of temporary medical institutions. We are also strengthening our medical inspection system in preparation for the inevitable increase in influenza patients as the season approaches.

By reducing the risk of infection and preventing the spread of COVID, everyone will be able to comfortably engage in societal and economical activities.

I ask for everyone to continue actively engaging in societal and economical activities whilst practicing basic prevention measures such as wearing masks and sanitization.

It has become the time of the year where seasonal influenza becomes prevalent. If you are feeling unwell, please go and see your doctor for a check-up as soon as possible.
