Medical consultation and treatment methods vary from country to country. Although it is understandable that you may be concerned because you are treated differently than you are used to, you should remember that cultural differences will be reflected in the medical system. So it is important to confirm the purpose of treatment, the nature of the medication, any possible side effects, and anything else that you are uncertain about.
