To prevent the further spread of the virus, we kindly ask all residents to refrain from traveling to “regions that have declared a State of Emergency”, unless it is for urgent and essential reasons. In addition, please make careful consideration when traveling to regions that are or have been reporting “15 or more new cases within the most recent week (per a population of 100,000)”, one of several conditions indicating the rate of infections; or to areas that have announced to refrain traveling or going out for similar non-urgent and non-essential reasons.
Regions that have declared a State of Emergency (SoE)
Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, and Kanagawa Prefectures
Types of travel allowed during the SoE:
- Business trips
(for healthcare workers or those working in services necessary to sustain the daily lives of people, any work that can’t be done remotely, etc.) - Hospital check-ups
- Nursing care for parents, etc.
- Job searching activities
- Taking the entrance exam
