Alien Registration Card
(Gaikokujin Toroku Shomeisho)

Individuals who have completed the alien registration procedure will be issued with a certificate of alien registration. Individuals over the age of 16 will be issued with a laminated photo-card within about 2 weeks of application. This Alien Registration Card must be carried at all times.

Children under 16 will be issued with a folded paper card, without a photograph, the day after application. This card need not be carried at all times.
