Human Rights

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 1 states that, ‘All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.’ The upholding of all people’s human rights is the basis of civilised society.

However, humans are sometimes liable to prejudice and discrimination, for example in Japanese schools, bullying has become a major problem. It is very ignorant of people to discriminate against foreign nationals. If you are unfortunate enough to meet with racial discrimination, please have the courage to stand up and fight your case.

Legal Affairs Bureau offers advice and counselling on the protection of human rights. The Legal Affairs Bureau and the Human Rights Protection Committee will investigate and handle cases that are deemed to be violating human rights from the human rights protection viewpoint.
