Direct Debit
A direct debit is an arrangement for regular payments from an individual's account to a contractor's account. For example, you can pay your electricity bill by direct debit, which means you no longer have to remember to pay every month. Instead, the exact amount of money is automatically debited from your account and deposited in the electricity company's account. Recently this system has been extended to include companies other than public utilities.
To arrange for a direct debit, simply complete a direct debit application form, remembering to use your name seal, and then submit it to your financial institution. You can also find these application forms at some convenience stores as well as other outlets. You can return them by post.
