When Trouble Arises |
Japanese LanguageLiving in Japan can present a number of difficulties to persons without some working knowledge of the Japanese language. Indeed, many of the organisations listed in this guidebook will be unable to assist you in a language other than Japanese. If you are staying for a short time in Japan and you have someone in your family who speaks Japanese, or there is someone at work who understands you, you probably will not have too many problems. However, if you are planning to stay for any length of time, learning Japanese really is worthwhile. Though there are no specialist language schools teaching Japanese in Iwate, the Iwate International Association (>> Iwate International Association) has a register of Japanese supporters of foreign nationals who are learning Japanese. The Association also works to collect information about private groups offering Japanese language courses. So if you are having problems with or would like to study Japanese, do not hesitate to contact the Iwate International Association (TEL: 019-654-8900), who can introduce you to a supporter or give you information about other possibilities. |
