IP Phones IP phones are phones that utilize the Internet. It is a service that allows you to talk via the Internet without using the phone networks provided by telecommunication companies such as NTT, etc. International phone calls may also be made using an IP phone. As you are not charged for the length of the actual phone call when connected to the Internet it is cheaper than standard phones. In order to use this service you need to complete some procedures, such as registering with a Provider. However, IP phones cannot connect to Emergency Services such as the Police (110), the Fire Department and Medical Emergency services (119) etc., and cannot be used during Blackouts.
